Kasunic Announces $1.1 Million Sewer System Grant for Ohiopyle Borough
Dunbar, April 25, 2012— State Sen. Richard A. Kasunic today announced a $1.106 million grant to Ohiopyle Borough for extensive sewer system rehabilitation.
“I am pleased state dollars will be used to help fund this important project,” Kasunic said. “This will help prevent water run-off into Meadow Run and rehabilitate a deteriorating sewer system.”
Kasunic said the project would rehabilitate over 8,100 linear feet of sanitary sewer, including manhole sealing, lateral repairs and constructing approximately 1,800 feet of storm sewers. He added that the project would aid economic development by limiting inflow sources from entering the sewer system, thus enabling the system to maintain its capacity and support future development. He said the Falls Market plans as well as additional planned projects are dependent on a reliable sewer system.
The PENNVEST (Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority) Board today approved the grant in Harrisburg. Kasunic is a member of the board.
